Buford planners okay rezoning of Fraser Rd. property

By B.J. Williams News Director
BUFORD - Despite protests from some residents of a neighboring subdivision, the Buford Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval for rezoning and annexation of a piece of property on Fraser Road.

The 82.4-acre tract of land, owned by People's Bank & Trust, backs up to the Lexington Woods subdivision in Flowery Branch.

Some homeowners said they were worried that changing the zoning on the property would lower their property values.

Planners okayed the move to rezone the property from residential (R1) to commercial-light industrial (M1) at a meeting Tuesday night.

The Buford City Commission takes up the matter on December 3.
