DAHLONEGA -- The Dawson County boys basketball team put the clamps on Lumpkin County's offense in the Tigers' season opener on Tuesday, pulling out a 55-36 win in Dahlonega.
Dawson County (1-0) jumped out to a 12-6 lead after the first quarter and led 27-8 at halftime.
Tyler Dominy paced the Tigers with a game-high 17 points. Lucas Pain also added 12 points.
Jonathan Gilreath scored 10 to pace the Indians.
The two teams will face off again on Saturday in Dawsonville, with the boys game tipping at 7:30 p.m.
