Sugar Hill man dies following traffic accident

BUFORD - A Sugar Hill man passed away at the hospital following a two-car accident in Buford Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Gwinnett County Police report, 70 year old Charles "Joe" Fairchild suffered injuries in the afternoon crash at Cumming Highway and Old Cumming Road. Police arrived on scene around 3:10 p.m.

The other driver, 17 year old MacKenzie Stephenson of Suwanee, allegedly turned her pickup truck left from Old Cumming Road in front of Fairchild's oncoming car which was on Cumming Highway, according to the report.

Fairchild died at Northside Forsyth Hospital.

According to Police, Stephenson was cited for failure to yield while turning left.
