DAHLONEGA - Taking business discussion to the international level, Penny McIntyre will speak at North Georgia College & State University (NGCSU) on Oct. 18 to discuss how business owners and their brands can thrive in the highly competitive international arena.
McIntyre is president of the Consumer Group at Newell Rubbermaid, a global marketer of consumer and commercial products with a portfolio of leading brands including Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Calphalon, and Paper Mate. She joined the company in 2009.
Regarding her approach to global brand building, McIntyre says, "When competing internationally, it is vital to make the complex simple and make the simple impactful. These are critically important qualities when competing for attention, time, and resources."
Prior to joining Rubbermaid, McIntyre spent 11 years with The Coca-Cola Co. in many international marketing and general manager assignments, including leadership roles in Moscow, Johannesburg, London, and the U.S. She graduated with honors from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in business administration.
Through exploring a combination of her own experiences and Newell Rubbermaid business case studies, McIntyre will discuss both easy and difficult elements of competing and winning in international business.
All presentations in the series are open to the public and free of charge. Each session will be held in the second floor auditorium (room 232) of the university's Health and Natural Sciences Building at 159 Sunset Drive, Dahlonega. Sessions begin at 12:55 p.m. and conclude at 1:50 p.m.
