Public hearings to be held in Cumming ahead of alcohol vote

By B.J. Williams
CUMMING - Forsyth County commissioners have scheduled two public hearings in advance of a vote on the Sunday retail sale of alcohol in the county.

The referendum vote will take place on March 6. The two hearings have been set for this Thursday, February 2 and for Thursday, March 1. Both will be held at 5:00 p.m. ahead of regular county commission meetings. The meeting site is at the Forsyth County Administration Building (Suite 220), located at 110 E. Main Street in Cumming.

Commissioners say they want public input on amending the county's alcohol ordinance should the Sunday sales measure pass.
