Boys basketball: Big fourth quarter propels Tigers past Banks

HOMER -- Trailing most of the night, the Dawson County boys saved their best for the end against Banks County Tuesday night.

The Tigers outscored the Leopards 20-13 in the final period to rally for a 64-58 win in Region 8A-AA action.

Dawson County (16-4, 3-2 in subregion) trailed 15-13 after the first quarter, 32-27 at halftime, and 45-44 heading into the fourth quarter.

Gunnar Armstrong paced the Tigers with 17 points. Bruce Clark added 15 for Dawson County, which has now won three straight games in subregion play.

Banks County (11-10, 4-2) saw its five-game win streak snapped with the loss.
