Clarkesville's historic 'Charm House' sold at auction

CLARKESVILLE - There is a new owner of the Charm House in Clarkesville.

The historic Washington Street home was auctioned off Monday with bids beginning at $100,000.

An official with Williams & Williams Real Estate Auction, which was handling the auction, could not comment on how much the winning bid was.

The five bedroom, five and a half bath home that includes custom plaster moldings, marble baths, black walnut flooring and numerous fireplaces was built in 1907 and is listed on The National Register of Historic Places.

The Charm House has previously served as a private residence, a bed and breakfast, a restaurant and a medical clinic.
