Gainesville readying for Nov. elections

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville City Council Aug. 2 is expected to set the qualifying dates for this year's city council and school board elections.

Qualifying packets for the election are already available. Council and board of education seats for Wards 2, 3 and 5 will be up for grabs this year. Anyone interested in running should contact City Clerk Denise Jordan via email at [email protected] or by calling 770-535-6865 to schedule an appointment.

The packet, which is designed to assist candidates with qualifying and other election related matters, contains the Election Calendar, a Ward Map, information from the City's Charter and other important documents.
