GAINESVILLE - Gainesville police have arrested a 15-year-old in connection with a string of business burglaries in the Atlanta Highway area earlier this year.
Gainesville police spokesman Joe Britte said all of the break-ins happened on April 13.
"He basically gained entry to these businesses by busting out the front doorwith a hammer," said Britte.
All of the businesses involved were located in a shopping center at 425 Atlanta Highway, and Britte said the business owners were a big help in the investigation.
"They were very instrumental in catching this thief, also," said Britte. "I'd like to say 'thank you' to all the business owners because without them this wouldn't be possible."
The teenager faces multiple charges, including three counts of burglary,entering an auto to steal and criminal damage to property. He has been released to his parents while he awaits a court date.
