Power crews continue work in Rabun and White counties

By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio
CLEVELAND - Progress continues to be made by power crews working in Rabun and White counties following this week's deadly storms.

Spokeswoman for Habersham EMC Susan Baker said the number of customers in that area without power has dropped from 2,400 to 800.

She said in Rabun County, the affected areas include portions of Lake Burton, Germany Mountain, Acorn Creek, Moccasin Creek and Timpson Cove. Officials said Timpson Cove may be the hardest hit area, and they said there is about 250 meters where power will not be able to be restored because the structure is completely destroyed or the damage is just too extensive.

In White County, Baker said areas above Helen on Highway 75 North and Tray Mountain also remain without power.
