GAINESVILLE - Another veteran law enforcement officer has announced his candidacy for sheriff of Hall County.
Jon P. Strickland plans to run for the office being vacated by Steve Cronic.
Strickland is a 21-year law enforcement veteran in the state of Georgia. He began his career with the City of Gainesville Police Department and retired from the Georgia State Patrol after 16 years.
Another law enforcement veteran with a similar name, Jeff Strickland, currently the chief deputy of the sheriff's department, announced his candidacy for sheriff earlier this month.
