Soccer: Lady Knights hold off rival West Hall

OAKWOOD -- Despite being down to 10 players due to an early red card on Johnson forward Chandler Steele, the Lady Knights rallied to defeated West Hall 4-2 Friday night in Area 8-AAA action.

Johnson was down 1-0 after a West Hall free kick seven minutes into the game
and then lost a player moments later.

But the lady Knights' Bethany Johnson tied the game at 1-1 on a free kick at 17 minutes later and Kayla Madsen scored off an assist from Johnson at the two minutes later to give them the lead. Bethany Johnson added another goal on a free kick with 2:59 left in first half for a 3-1 halftime lead.

In the second half Brittany Martin scored off an assist from Emily Byers to push the lead to 4-1. West Hall cut the lead int half with 19:13 left in the game but could get no closer.

Johnson (5-0-1, 5-0 in area play) will travel to East Hall on Tuesday in a non-region game.
