GAINESVILLE - Absentee ballots will be available starting Monday at the Hall County Elections Office for the Dec. 6 runoff for the state House District 25 post between Bobby Banks and Emory Dunahoo, and early voting begins then, too.

Dunahoo led a seven-man field of candidates on Nov. 8 with 21.3 percent of the vote; Banks came in second with 19.7 percent.

Hall County Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee said a written request is required for all absentee ballots.

"Applications are available in our office or (on) our Web site, www.hallcounty.org," Sosebee said. "Those who wish to vote early may do so in our office from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (each day). The last day for early voting and requests for absentee ballots is Friday, Dec. 2nd, However, the office will be closed Nov. 23-25. Sample ballots are available by mail or in our office or on our website."

Sosebee points out that only those voters who are represented by the 2th state House District and were registered to vote before Oct. 11 are eligible to vote in the runoff. In addition, if you qualify and did not vote Nov. 8, you can still vote in the runoff.

The elections office is the only place in Hall County were ballots can be cast in early voting.
