A fire at a two-apartment duplex house in the 1200 block of Patterson Drive left about $35,000 in damage early Sunday morning.
Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said fire fighters found heavy smoke upon arrival from one of the apartments. The fire crew made an interior attack on the involved apartment and had the blaze extinguished in about 15 minutes.
Kimbrell said one apartment suffered about $35,000 worth of damage, while the uninvolved side recieved some smoke damage.
Kimbrell said the occupant of the involved unit had exited the structure before calling authorities from a neighbors home. He said an investigator was expected to be on the scene later Sunday morning.
