Forsyth County remembers 9-11

By Staff
CUMMING - Forsyth County took a moment to remember and honor those lost September 11, 2001, during a ceremony Friday, September 10, at the Forsyth County Administration Building. The ceremony began at 9:59 a.m., the time at which the first World Trade Center tower began its collapse.

Beginning at 9:59 a.m. and continuing throughout the ceremony, the Fire Department Honor Guard bell was rung 403 times, one time for each of the public safety personnel who died on September 11, 2001. Forsyth County Fire Chief Danny Bowman welcomed those in attendance and reminded them to never forget those who were lost.

The Honor Guards of the Forsyth County Fire Department and Sheriff's Office took part in the ceremony, lowering the flags in front of the County Administration Building to half-staff. A bagpiper played "Amazing Grace" and "Taps" was also played.
