Dates set for 22nd Annual Shore Sweep

BUFORD - As the sun sets on another summer on Lake Lanier, the Lake Lanier Association is gearing up for the 22nd Annual Shore Sweep which will be held Saturday, September 25, at thirteen locations around the lake.

The hours will be 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., and volunteers may pick up trash bags to collect trash from the shoreline at the following locations on the lake: Hall County - Aqualand Marina, Clarks Bridge Park, Gainesville Marina, Holiday Marina, Lake Lanier Islands, Lazy Days Marina, Starboard Cove Marina and Sunrise Cove Marina: Dawson County - War Hill Park; Forsyth County - Bald Ridge Marina, Habersham Marina and Port Royale Marina; Gwinnett - Lanier Harbor Marina. Trash may be taken to these locations with the exception of Lake Lanier Islands where volunteers may enter at no charge through the main gate to collect trash.

In return for a full bag of trash, the volunteers will receive a free Shore Sweep T-shirt and an invitation to the Shore Sweep volunteer appreciation party which will take place at Van Pugh Park North in Flowery Branch after Shore Sweep from 1:00-3:00 that afternoon.
