By Dean Dyer /WRWH
CLEVELAND - White County High School Principal Bryan Dorsey has accepted the position of Superintendent of Schools for Gilmer County.

Dorsey, who has been with the White County system for almost six years, was approved for the position Thursday night by the Gilmer County Board of Education.

Dorsey must still receive a release from his contract with the White County Board of Education, which meets next Thursday.

"I hope to carry over there some great things I have learned at White County and we will have a great school system," said Dorsey.

If White County approves the contract release, which is expected, Dorsey said he will begin Oct. 1 as assistant superintendent and will become superintendent Jan. 1 following the retirement of current Superintendent Randy Parson.
