No changes following White Co. recount

By Dean Dyer /WRWH
CLEVELAND - White County election officials conducted a recount of votes from a county commission runoff August 10 Wednesday afternoon but there was no change from the original count.

The recount was requested by former county commission chairman Chris Nonnemaker who lost his bid to rejoin the commission board by 11 votes.

Election Superintendent Garrison Baker said all votes have been recounted, including all precincts, provisional ballots and absentee ballots there were no changes from the certified results last Friday. Nonnemaker said the recount was just a part of the election process, because of the very tight race. He had stated previously that he did not think there would be a change, but he requested the recount for all the people who either worked on his campaign or who voted for him.

Nonnemaker gave his congratulations to Craig Bryant but added "I'll be back in 24 months."  Bryant expressed his relief that the process is over so that "We can get on with county business."
