Buford house total loss

By Corey O'Quinn
BUFORD - Firefighters responded to a report of a house fire in the 3600 block of South Puckett Road in Buford. Crews found the two-story wood frame house well involved upon arrival.

The blaze spread quickly from the garage to the attic and the main-living space.

The fire caused a total loss to the structure as well as a vehicle that was parked inside the garage. A second car parked nearby was also damaged by the radiant heat.

Firefighters made immediate entry to conduct a search and battle the blaze, but were forced to back-out after several minutes due to intense fire and collapse conditions.

The fire appears to have started in the garage and may have been started by a lawn mower, however the exact cause is undetermined and under investigation.

Firefighters were able to rescue a dog from inside the house after the bulk of the flames were extinguished. A second dog was found deceased inside the home. No other injuries were reported.
