Lawrenceville Apartment Fire

LAWRENCEVILLE - An early afternoon fire damaged one unit at a Lawrenceville apartment complex.

Gwinnett fire spokesman Tommy Rutledge said the fire occurred about 1:37 p.m. at Magnolia Village Apartments on East Crogan Street.

The fire had already been extinguished by the sprinkler system when authorities arrived.

Rutledge said the fire was contained to the kitchen, but there was smoke and water damage throughout the apartment.

The blaze appears to have been caused by a grease fire on the stove.

One occupant was treated at the scene for minor burns.
