Talk of merging city, county fire departments

GAINESVILLE - There is renewed talk of a possible merger of some Gainesville and Hall County services as a way of saving money.

It emerged during budget presentations by Hall County department heads this week.

Specifically, the discussion centered on combining the city and county fire departments and EMS service. But, it's only talk at this point.
