Runaway Car Injures Two

CLEVELAND - A 68-year old Alpharetta man and his wife were injured Sunday when the man passed out while driving south on Highway 75  North in Cleveland.  Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said the driver was traveling south on the Helen Highway as he passed the post office the man passed out and hit the accelerator.
 
According to Pruitt the vehicle ran through the intersection of highways 75 and 129 and into the parking lot of the Huddle House Restaurant.  The vehicle struck three  unoccupied cars in the paring lot, with the vehicle coming to rest against some trees behind the restaurant.  

Cleveland Police Chief John Foster identified the driver as Patrick Dooley of Alpharetta and said they got the call at 2:39 PM.   

Pruitt said the man and his wife suffered non life threatening injuries, but it could have been much worse.  The driver and passenger were transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
