Gwinnett men arrested in vice sting

By Staff
BUFORD - Police have arrested three Gwinnett County men in an undercover vice sting in Buford.

Officers said a citizen tipped them off to lewd acts occuring in the men's restroom at K-Mart at 1605 Buford Highway. Investigators made contact with one suspect through the Internet and arranged to meet him at the store for the purpose of engaging in sex. When the undercover officer entered the restroom, he made contact with the suspect and after a brief conversation, the suspect solicited the officer for a sex act. The suspect was immediately taken into custody.

During the operation, two other males who were in the restroom were confronted and interviewed and they advised that they were there for the same reason. All three suspects were arrested and released on citations.

The offenders have been identified as Jerry Lane Casper, 56, of Duluth, Alejandro Dearo, 37, of Dacula and Kenneth David Butler, 44, of Buford. All are charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in solicitation of sex acts in a public place.

The arrests took place Friday.
