GAINESVILLE - A distinguished group of songwriters will come together for the second John Jarrard Foundation Night Concert at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Bob Dipiero, Walt Aldridge, Rory Bourke and Kendall Marvel will perform at the historic Nashville music venue to benefit the John Jarrard Foundation. Dipiero has written 15 No. 1 hits including "Southern Voice" by Tim McGraw. Aldridge has twice been voted Billboard Magazine Top 10 Country Songwriter of the Year and wrote Reba McEntire's hit "The Fear of Being Alone." Bourke is a member of the Songwriters Hall Of Fame and a three-time ASCAP Writer of the Year. He wrote "Most Beautiful Girl" which was a hit for Charlie Rich. Marvel has penned numerous songs including "Right Where I Need To Be" by Gary Allan.

"We are excited to have such a great group of songwriters performing at the infamous Bluebird," John Jarrard Foundation Executive Director Jody Jackson said.

The first John Jarrard Nashville fundraiser was also held at the Bluebird Cafe. That was in April 2008.

John Jarrard, a Gainesville native, was a well-known Nashville songwriter who penned hits for a number of top country music stars. Jarrard battled diabetes before passing away in 2001. In his memory, a group of friends, including another well respected Nashville songwriter and Gainesville native, Bruce Burch, organized the John Jarrard Foundation. For the past eight years, the Bruce Burch and Friends Concert Honoring John Jarrard has brought some of the industry's top songwriters and performers to Gainesville.

During that time, the Jarrard Foundation has raised more $700,000 primarily with one big event each year. The foundation has plans to increase the number of events this year. Jackson said five or six shows around the state of Georgia, as well as special events like the Bluebird show in Nashville are planned.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.bluebirdcafe.com. Proceeds will go to a permanent endowment fund in John's name funding local charities.
