Cumming murder victim identified

ATLANTA - The death of a 34-year-old Cumming woman, whose body was found in her home Tuesday afternoon, officially has been ruled a homicide.

John Bankhead with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has identified her as Maria Hernandez-Reyes.

"A man who rented a room from the victm and her husband had returned to his room from work and found the victim's body," said Bankhead.

Even though an autopsy confirmed Hernandez-Reyes was murdered, the agency is not releasing the cause of death.

The body was found in the woman's Park Street home in Cumming about 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.
