JEFFERSON - Investigators continue to probe a Saturday morning fire at Universal Forest Products in Jefferson.
Firefighters from Jefferson, Arcade, Harrisburg and Jackson County responded to the call at 7:20 Saturday morning, according to Jackson County EMS. Initial reports indicated that the fire started in the shop area of the 300-thousand square foot building. The building sustained smoke and water damage throughout.
No injuries were reported, and no one was at the business at the time the fire started.
The cause and origin of the blaze are under investigation.
Universal Fire Products is located at 80 Martin Luther King Avenue in Jefferson just off Old Highway 129.
