DAWSONVILLE - No more impact fees for new construction in Dawson County...at least for now...as county officials look for ways to kick-start new development.
Lynn Tully, Community Development Director for Dawson County, said commercial development has been slow and steady in Dawson. But, housing has been a different story.
"New house starts have been very, very slow," commented Tully. "Down anywhere from 30 to 40% from past years."
Tully said the county commission will revisit the suspension of impact fees in about a year to guage whether the action has helped construction starts for Dawson County.
