LAWRENCEVILLE - A Buford couple remains in jail after a Gwinnett County magistrate judge denied bond in connection with the drowning death of a toddler in their backyard swimming pool.
Tanya Sheri Moon, 34, and her husband Shawn Moon, 36, were arrested Thursday after the Abiola Bank-olemoh, 2, wandered out of the home in the 3700 block of Bradford Walk Trail. Tanya Moon was watching for Abiola and two other children who were not hers at the time. She reportedly left the children alone while she used the restroom.
The toddler was discovered in the bakcyard swimming pool at the home. The child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Gwinnett Medical Center.
The babysitter and her husband are charged with two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree and one count of reckless conduct.
