Last-minute push for campaign $$$

GAINESVILLE - At least two of the candidates running for the 9th District Congressional seat have made public appeals for last-minute, end-of-the-year campaign contributions this week.

They are Republican Lee Hawkins and Democrat Mike Freeman.

Freeman sent an email last week soliciting end-of-the-year donations. Hawkins earlier this week announced a goal of raising $10,000 this week. Hawkins said yesterday he was within $3,000 of that amount.
