GAINESVILLE - A convenience store clerk is a little rattled, but otherwise unhurt, after an early morning armed robbery.

It happened at the Quik Trip at West Ridge Road and Athens Highway in Gainesville. Police say the store was robbed at gunpoint just before 2 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Lt. Brian Kelly, the clerk reported that the man had been loitering in the store and when all the other customers left, he pulled a gun and took money from the cash register and left on foot.

Police who responded to the call used a tracking dog to locate 45-year-old Ronald Levi Miller of Gainesville, Kelly said.

Miller was hiding in bushes behind a house on Cooley Drive, and was arrested, according to Kelly.

Miller is charged with one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Theft by Taking and one Count of Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act for a Crack Pipe that was found in his possession.
