DAHLONEGA - The two people killed Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident in Lumpkin County have now been identified.
A spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol said it appeared a vehicle was speeding along Highway 52 West near Frank Christian Road when the driver lost control, left the roadway and hit a tree.
Mark Benziger, 22, and 21-year-old Jennifer Wood, both of Dahlonega, were ejected from the vehicle. The driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident happened just after 5:30 p.m. Friday.
An investigation continues into the incident.
