DACULA - A Barrow County man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Dacula early Saturday morning.
Gwinnett County authorities said Steven Mote, 28, of Statham was traveling northbound on Old Fountain Road near the intersection of Evergreen Eve Crossing about 2 a.m. Saturday. Mote's vehicle, a 2004 Ford Ranger, partially left the roadway as he was negotiating a curve. The accident report said Mote lost control of the vehicle as he attempted to steer back onto the roadway.
Mote was not wearing a seat belt, and he was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities said he died at the scene. Alcohol and toxicology tests are pending.
