Scott's On the Square opens 'white tablecloth' dining for lunch, dinner

GAINESVILLE - Scott's on the Square Restaurant and Wine Bar has opened in the former location of Tea Tyme in downtown Gainesville.

Gainesville resident and owner Scott Dixon has more than a dozen years in the hospitality and restaurant business.

"The menu items have been carefully crafted from the best and freshest ingredients," Dixon said. He has hired chef Chris Batson, who manages a kitchen staff of nearly a half-dozen, to prepare meals. "We've also thoroughly trained our wait staff to be sensitive to people's available time at lunch. Each order is prepared individually and we can accommodate customers who need a quick bite on a limited timeframe."

The restaurant opened December 10.
