GAINESVILLE - East Gainesville could soon be getting two new sizable residential developments.

One proposal calls for townhomes on White Sulphur Road near Crescent Drive and the other a subdivision at the end of Flintridge Road near Limestone Parkway.

The White Sulphur project would be on a 31-acre site, according to the May 9 agenda for the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board, and would also include a retail/commercial component. According to the agenda, the parcel is on the southeast corner of the intersection of White Sulphur Road and Waters Road, and White Sulphur and Crescent Drive. In addition to annexation, BCM Developers, LLC, is also requesting that the property be zoned Planned Unit Development (P-U-D).

The Flintridge Road development calls for 40 single-family homes on about 22 acres. In its application, Sunrise Home Builders, Inc., is requesting that the existing P-U-D zoning for the site be amended.
