GAINESVILLE - This year's Gainesville Kiwanis Club Youth Service Award winner is the founder and director of Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK), Sheri Hooper.

Hooper received the award Tuesday night at the club's annual banquet at the Chattahoochee Country Club.

Hooper was described as a "superhero...known throughout the community for
her creativity and energy." In addition to creating, nurturing and managing INK, Hooper is vice president of the Mount Vernon Elementary School PTO, a scout den mother, and a Vacation Bible School volunteer at First Baptist Church on Green Street.

The club's John Thompson Award, which goes to a high school Key Club member, went to Kimberly Johnson, a senior at Lakeview Academy.
