West Hall takes third seed in 7-AAA

GAINESVILLE - West Hall outscored North Hall 8-3 in overtime to take the third seed in Region 7-AAA Monday in the consolation game.

The Lady Spartans made the run stand up in a 47-42 win in overtime.

The Lady Spartans (14-11) opened the extra period on a 4-0 run and never looked back.

West Hall next will travel to Monroe Area, the No. 2 seed from 8-AAA, Friday in the first round of the state tournament.

Tarah Teague had six points in the overtime and finished with 11 points for West Hall. Paige Hanson finished with 17 for the Lady Spartans.

North Hall (13-12) will travel to Region 8-AAA top-seed Franklin County Friday in the state tournament.

The game went back-and-forth most of the game with North Hall holding a four-point lead with 1:08 left. But two Hanson free throws and a Lacey Bartlett basket tied the game with 28 second left.

The Lady Spartans had chances to put the game away in the fourth quarter but was 10-of-21 for the game from the free throw line. North Hall was just 5-of-9 for the game.

The Lady Trojans were led by Davenport's 14 points. Brittany Crews had 11 and Beth Ann hamilton 10 for North Hall.
