Clark enters 'not guilty' pleas

By by Jerry Gunn
GAINESVILLE - Lisa Clark's attorney Dan Sammons confirmed Friday morning following her arraignment that there was no plea agreement, but there were discussions about a plea offer from the District Attorney.

Clark entered a not guilty plea to all charges including child molestation in connection to her marriage to a fifteen-year-old boy and was sent back to the Hall Detention Center.
Sammons said there was an offer.

"We're not happy with the offer as it presently exists,"Sammons said. "I won't discuss the terms of the plea offer unless and until we reach an agreement."

Sammons added he was not happy with Judy Hayles disclosure of a possible plea offer.

"I think her enthusiasm unnecessarily complicates the case because it just stirs things up and it makes it difficult to be able to resolve things that need to be resolved."

Hayles is the teenage husband's grandmother and claimed that Clark would serve less than ten months if she entered a guilty plea.
Sammons said he expects Judge Bonnie Oliver to hear his request to re-instate Clark's bond during an upcoming March 15th hearing.

Clark was out on bond but was returned to Hall County Jail after she was arrested on charges of hindering the apprehension of her teenage husband.
The teenager left a juvenile home where he was being held on a probation violation and investigators learned he was in Ohio where Clark mailed him a package containing a cell phone and cash money.
