Lady Elephants beat AAAAA Sequoyah

CANTON - The Gainesville girls soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season after beating Class AAAAA Sequoyah 3-1 Saturday night on the road.

Heather Dixon had two goals for the Class AAA fifth-ranked Lady Red Elephants

Dixon scored her first goal on a penalty kick, and scored again later to give Gainesville a 2-0 lead. Laura Dendy added a goal in the second half on a free kick.

Gainesville next will play host to Class AAAAA Mill Creek on Tuesday at City Park.
