GAINESVILLE - The needy had at least two places to turn for a free Thanksgiving meal Thursday in Gainesville.
The Good News At Noon mission was expecting to feed 400-500, according to founder Gene Beckstein. Good News provides a hot meal, not only at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but daily year round - and it's really for anyone, Beckstein said Thursday, not just those in need.
The Salvation Army in Gainesville also served up a hot meal at lunchtime Thursday.
