DeKalb teen gets life plus 20 years for rapes

<p>A DeKalb County teenager has been sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years for sexually assaulting six women.</p><p>Carlos Johnson Jr., now 19, pleaded guilty Wednesday to rape and other charges for a four-month series of attacks in the summer of 2004 on women near his apartment between Decatur, Ga., and Clarkston, Ga. Five of the women _ ages ranging from 18 to 61 _ were raped and one was sodomized.</p><p>Johnson also was charged with attempting to rape a seventh victim.</p><p>In an agreement with prosecutors, Johnson pleaded guilty to two of the attacks. Superior Court Judge Michael Hancock sentenced Johnson for rape, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, burglary and robbery.</p><p>Johnson choked most of his victims, one so severely that blood vessels in her eyes burst.</p><p>He has been in jail since his arrest in September 2004.</p><p>Though he could be eligible for parole in 20 years, District Attorney Gwen Keyes Fleming said her office will do "everything in its power to see that he is never released from prison."</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9b0c)</p>
