Top spot in 7-AAA up for grabs

GAINESVILLE - The top spot in the upcoming Region 7-AAA softball tournament will come down to the final day Thursday.

North Hall (15-9, 8-1 in region) and Pickens (17-11, 8-1) are tied atop the standings but Pickens holds the tiebreaker edge by virtue of its 5-2 win over the Lady Trojans last week.

North Hall will play host to Gainesville, which has lost four straight, and Pickens will travel to Chestatee, which narrowly lost to North Hall 2-0 on Tuesday.

The Region Tournament begins Monday at Lanier Point Park. West Hall won last year's tournament with Pickens finishing second.
