Merritt named Board Member of the Year

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Assistant City Manager Tim Merritt has been named Board Member of the Year by the Georiga Mountains Regional Development Center.

Merritt currently serves as the agency's vice chairman and formerly served as secretary-treasurer.

Linda Strikland was named Employee of the Year; Dawsonville Mayor Joe Lane Cox, Elected Official of the Year; and Gary Fesperman, Lavonia City Manager, was chosen Appointed Official of the Year.

The awards were presented at the GMRDC's annual meeting.
