SouthTrust takes Wachovia name

ATLANTA - An Oakwood bank is about to take on a new name.

The conversion of Georgia SouthTrust branches to Wachovia branches begins Thursday - and should be complete by Monday.

The merger was announced last November, creating the largest bank in the Southeast and the fourth-largest bank holding company in the nation.

The Oakwood branch is the only SouthTrust office in Hall County.

Wachovia officials say SouthTrust customers will notice few changes, other than signage:
