Janice Allison is Hall School Nurse of the Year

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - Hall County's School Nurse of the Year is a lady who has been with the county school system since the school nurse program was implemented five years ago.

Janice Allison began her career as a school nurse at Spout Springs Elementary School in 2000 - the first year of school nurse clinics in the county school system. And, she still works at Spout Springs.

Allison was picked from among 25 candidates - one for each of the elementary and middle schools in the county.

Dr. Damon Gibbs, Spout Springs' principal, says Allison's support of the school "goes well beyond the clinic. She provides care for our students that is of the highest quality. She is a "team player" that provides assistance whenever it is needed."

Allison was presented the award by Mamie Coker, Hall County School System Health Coordinator, who oversees the school nurse program.
