Hall jobless rate down

ATLANTA - The unemployment rate in the metro Gainesville area is down two-tenths of a percent compared to a month ago, according to state Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond.

The new rate is 4.1 percent.

For the 13-county Georgia Mountains Region, which includes Gainesville, the rate went down three-tenths of a percent, to 3.8 percent.

The statewide rate also declined three-tenths of a percent to 4.7 percent.
