Hall man's manslaughter trial set for March

By by Ken Stanford
CLEVELAND - A Hall County man is scheduled to go on trial next month in Cleveland on an involuntary manslaughter charge.

22-year-old Richard Noah Bryson of Clermont was arrested last March and charged in connection with the death of 42-year-old Mark Edward Prescott of White County.

Prescott was killed during a fight in a parking lot in Helen March 13.

A Habersham County man, 21-year-old Ryan Lovell, was also charged in the case but the charges against him have been dismissed.

Helen Police Chief Ted Ray said at the time that Bryson turned himself in at the White County Sheriff's Office three days after the incident. That same day, Lovell was taken into custody by Hall County sherif's deputies acting on a lookout that had been posted for him.

Prescott died at a hospital not long after he was found with a head injury apparently suffered when he hit his head on the pavement during a fight with Lovell and Bryson.
