Georgia Mountains Center renovations on track

GAINESVILLE - Plans are on track for a one million dollar renovation of the Georgia Mountains Center with an eye toward a 25th anniversary celebration later this year.

The city council recently approved the work and Director Carol Moore says the work will include the new carpeting, chandeliers and ceilings in the meeting rooms; reupholstered seating in the arena; a new entrance and curtains and refurbished dressing rooms for the theater; and, wireless internet capability throughout the building.
"The city has a construction management division that we will be working in conjunction with," Moore says.

The 25th anniversary celebration for the Georgia Mountains Center is planned in November.
