Fire Weather Watch posted

UNDATED - Conditions are ripening again for forest fires in the Gainesville area.

A Red Flag Warning has been posted for most of north and central Georgia for Friday afternoon because of the dry grass and woods as well as humidities that are expected to be 25 percent or less.

Several such warnings have been posted this year since the first of the year, but Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle says, so far, the Gainesville area has been lucky.

The Fire Weather Watch was posted by the National Weather Service and is effective from noon-7:00 p.m. Friday.
