White House rep visits Flowery Branch High

FLOWERY BRANCH - A White House representative has been to Flowery Branch for a first-hand look at the Hall County Schools System's mandatory drug testing program for athletes, according to system spokesman Gordon Higgins.

Tad Davis, who is with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, visited Flowery Branch High School Friday.

"He just came down from Washington on sort of a fact-finding mission to see how the program was working, what we were doing, how we were doing it," Higgins said.

Davis visited with the administration, coaches, athletes and parents of athletes during his visit.

"We'll just have to see what the final up shoot of all this is," Higgins said, "but it's interesting to know that the people in Washington are looking at programs across the nation where drug testing is taking place."

This is the first year of the program in Hall County.
