Rabid skunk found in South Hall

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - A rabid skunk has been found in the Holly Hock Drive area of South Hall.

Hall County Animal Control officials say word came from a state lab in Atlanta Wednesday that the skunk had tested positive for rabies. It was shipped to Atlanta Tuesday after coming into contact with four dogs in the Holly Hock Drive area.

At that time, a door-to-door canvas was done to alert residents of the lab's findings.

If you live in this area, or you see an animal acting abnormally in the Holly Hock Drive area, contact the Gainesville-Hall Animal Control Dept. at 770-531-6830 or, during non-working hours, call Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812.
